After our brilliant afternoon at Bull House on Sussex Day, we were invited back to Lewes to show the game at the Lewes Festival of Democracy on the 4th July.
Starting with a parade through the town, where the Lewes Town crier Jon Borthwick would stop and read key quotes from Thomas Paine’s work at different points along the route.
The parade then would its way back to the Gun Garden at Lewes Castle for an open-air afternoon of music, poetry, storytelling and ideas.
Paul and John then laid the We Wunt Be Druv game on a table, and had many great conversations with participants, politicians and passers-by who were all interested in how we might use the game to invite more discussion and debate as to useful, future-facing methods of democratic participation in Sussex. More in Lewes soon, we think!

There’s a whole album of photos from the day here.
